Boutiques and late-night convenience stores
Lauderdale Mansions is well-served by specialist boutiques, delicatessens, and late-night convenience stores, off-licences and newsagents.
The eastern end of Lauderdale Road boasts two delicatessens (La Piccola Dely and Bon Appetit), a florist (Avalon Flowers), an off-licence (Nicholas), and two convenience stores (Maida Vale Self Service and Hamish-2BB), the latter also doubling as a newsagent.
Two minutes walk away in the other direction, there is a Tesco Express on Sutherland Avenue (open 24/7 and good for food and newspapers).
Meanwhile around Maida Vale Underground station (3 minutes walk away) there are four grocery stores, two more newsagents and an off-licence. In Clifton Road, there is another Tesco Express, a delicatessen (Raoul's) plus an organic butchers, and a fruit and vegetable shop.
Specialist boutiques also abound. Art and antique shops include Touche Art Galleries in Sutherland Avenue, Vale Antiques in Elgin Avenue (by Maida Vale tube), and Prue Lane in Formosa Street. Other specialist outlets include A K and G Martin-Stone on Edgware Road (by the canal) for excellent value high-end shoes, Joujou & Lucy Children's Boutique in Clifton Road and Paulie women's fashion, also in Clifton Road.
There are two pharmacy stores in Elgin Avenue close to Maida Vale Underground station (3 minutes walk), two more in the Clifton Road shopping area (also 3 minutes walk), and several 24-hour pharmacies in Edgware Road and Marble Arch.
The nearest large shopping centres are Oxford Street (W1); St John's Wood High Street (NW8); Whiteley's, Queensway (W2); and the Westfield Centre, Shepherd's Bush Green (W12).
